Renaldo G. Wilson (he/his) has over 20 years of experience working in the health field for both private and public sectors. He is very passionate about equity and anti-oppression.
Renaldo has degrees in Jazz Performance, Exercise Physiology, Nutrition and Comparative Near Eastern Religions and Philosophies. His certifications include: Functional Nutrition, Diabetes Education, Prenatal/Postpartum Exercise, Peri/Post Menopause Nutrition, Corrective Exercise Techniques, among many others. Previous speaking engagements include Trauma-Informed Care in clinical care, and culturally competent nutrition and smoking cessation.
He has worked as the Program Director for NUPAC (Nicotine Use Prevention and Control) for New Mexico’s Department of Health, as well as the National Equity Engagement Officer for the Tobacco Control Network (TCN). He was formerly a Health Educator, Cessation Specialist and Clinical Exercise Physiologist for Kaiser Permanente in Southern California. In 2020 he served as a Health Education Manager for the Los Angeles County Department of Public Health. For years he taught as an adjunct professor with Pacific Oaks College in Pasadena, California. His courses included Human Nutrition and Metabolism, Exercise Physiology and World Music and Culture. He served on the board of Echo Training, Los Angeles.
When he is not working, you will find him at the gym, drinking coffee, playing his saxophone or watching movies with his family.
